    rimsulfuron mode of action

    Rimsulfuron is a sulfonylurea herbicide that acts as a branched-chain amino acid synthesis inhibitor. It is a selective post-emergence herbicide effective against annual and perennial grasses and broadleaf weeds in corn fields. Target weeds include thistle, shepherd’s purse, nutsedge, curly dock, johnsongrass, wild oats, barnyardgrass, crabgrass, ryegrass, velvetleaf, redroot pigweed, and henbit.

    Key Points:

    • Application: Best applied early post-emergence for annual weeds. Recommended rate is 5-15g active ingredient per hectare (0.33-1.09g per mu).
    • Crops: Used in corn and potato fields. Safe for corn, especially spring corn.
    • Efficacy: Rapid half-life in corn (6 hours), ensuring crop safety even at 2-4 times the recommended dose.
    • Safety: No adverse effects on subsequent crops, but not suitable for sweet corn, popcorn, waxy corn, and seed corn fields.
