Learn about the mechanism and application of Forchlorfenuron (CPPU), a plant growth regulator that enhances fruit size and yield through cell division and enlargement. Discover recommended dosages for various crops.
Introduction to Forchlorfenuron (CPPU)
Mechanism of Action:
Forchlorfenuron (CPPU) is a plant growth regulator that enhances cell division and enlargement. It increases fruit size, improves yield, and extends shelf life by promoting cell proliferation and delaying senescence. CPPU is particularly effective in promoting fruit growth in kiwifruit, grapes, and melons.
Usage and Dosage:
For optimal results, apply CPPU as a foliar spray at a concentration of 5-20 ppm. Kiwifruit and grapes, use 10-20 ppm when fruits are 7-10 days post-pollination. Melons, use 5-10 ppm at early fruit development. Repeat applications may be necessary depending on crop needs.
