This insecticide exhibits significant activity against larvae of soil pests, making it a promising solution for managing wireworms, cutworms, and termites. Typically, an emulsifiable concentrate is diluted 1000 times for spraying. The safe interval for vegetables is 21 days, and for citrus, it is 45 days.
Product Introduction
Prothiofos is an asymmetric organophosphorus insecticide known for its broad-spectrum biological activity and lack of systemic action. It is particularly effective against lepidopteran larvae and shows excellent control over aphids, thrips, mealybugs, leafrollers, and worms that have developed resistance to carbamate and other organophosphorus insecticides. Prothiofos also demonstrates good efficacy against multi-resistant houseflies, mosquitoes, and larvae, and is effective against coleopteran pests while being less effective against cicadellids, mirids, and coccinellids.
Crops used of prothiofos
Prothiofos is highly effective against lepidopteran larvae and can control pests resistant to organochlorines, carbamates, or other organophosphorus insecticides, although it is not effective against boring and leaf-mining pests. It is primarily applied as a foliar spray and is suitable for use on fruit trees, vegetables, corn, potatoes, sugarcane, beets, tea trees, tobacco, and flowers. Additionally, it can be used to control public health pests such as flies and mosquitoes.
